Player Updates through Preseason Week 3

Alright we’ve made it through the preseason and roster cuts. Teams are down to their 53 man rosters and designated players for IR. Let’s get into it with a few risers and fallers since last week.

Stock up: MarShawn Lloyd, Mike Washington, Emmett Johnson

Stock down: Josh Jacobs, Jaydon Blue, Isiah Pacheco

Risers

MarShawn Lloyd (GB) stands to be the main beneficiary of Josh Jacobs being sidelined for an indefinite amount of time. Lloyd has had trouble staying healthy in the past, but all signs point to him being at full strength this year. Maybe he went to the same specialists that Christian Watson did and his problems are fixed. At any rate, I was wrong last week about not wanting to draft him in the 120s. That looks like great value now that he is going in the 70s and 80s. At least I have a couple BBM teams that are looking really good with him around pick 190.

Mike Washington (LV) has moved further up the board since I wrote about him last week and Ashton Jeanty injured his ankle in practice. News on Jeanty’s injury is murky. Sounds like it’s not too serious, but he’ll probably miss a game or two. Washington now gets picked in the 140s. Last week was 170 and a few weeks ago was around 200. I think he is still a good value at current prices given the other RBs who go around him.

Emmett Johnson (KC) looks to have locked up the RB2 role for the Chiefs with Emari Demercado being cut. He’s looked good in preseason and is worth a late round pick.

Fallers

Josh Jacobs (GB) has landed on the commissioner’s exempt list due to his role in an incident that occurred on May 23, 2026. He was charged with misdemeanor battery and criminal damage to property on August 27, 2026. The prosecutor says there is video of the incident from a security camera in the garage. Jacobs getting placed on the commissioner’s exempt list could be related to that video. Maybe Goodell saw it and it’s not good. No way to know for sure, but commissioner’s exempt list is generally not a good sign. My guess is he is out for at least half the season and I wouldn’t be surprised if he is out for the whole year. Avoid drafting

Jaydon Blue is a guy I thought had potential to contribute to what should be a potent Cowboys offense. That dream has evaporated now that he was cut and not re-signed to the practice squad. Maybe he lands on another team, but he is somebody who I would not recommend drafting at this point and wish I had drafted him less.

Isiah Pacheco (DET) is currently injured and the Lions were looking to bring in another RB (Kareem Hunt), but now it sounds like they are content to rock with Jacob Saylors as Jahmyr Gibbs’ backup.
